OpenAI shipped four advertiser features in its 21 August 2026 product update: a Maximize results bid strategy that sets bids automatically toward the campaign goal, platform targeting across the iOS app, Android app and web, one-day view-through conversion reporting, and a WorkMagic measurement integration. Brazil and Mexico are described as live, and the same update confirmed that European advertiser accounts open next week.
Maximize results: automated bidding arrives
Until now the platform priced campaigns on manual CPC or CPM, with conversion-optimised bidding limited to a product-feed beta. Maximize results lets the platform set and adjust bids toward the campaign goal you select. The open question is whether it brings conversion optimisation to standard click campaigns, which is the exact event our performance channel guide says to watch. We are verifying the goal options in our own account. Automated bidding is only as good as the conversion history behind it, so accounts with tracking already running benefit first.
Platform targeting: pick your surfaces
Campaign creation now includes an Eligible platforms multi-select: iOS app, Android app, web, in any combination. An app-install advertiser can stop paying for desktop web impressions, and a B2B product sold on desktop can do the reverse.
View-through conversions: credit for the read
Ads Manager now reports one-day view-through conversions at the campaign, ad group and ad levels: conversions that happen within a day of an eligible impression with no qualifying click taking credit. On a channel where the ad is read inside a conversation and the visit often comes later, that recovers a slice of impact clicks never showed. The definitions live in our conversion tracking guide.
WorkMagic joins the measurement list
WorkMagic, an ecommerce attribution platform, becomes the latest measurement integration: performance reported next to your other channels, and conversion signals sent back to OpenAI through the Conversions API. It joins Triple Whale, Hightouch, LiveRamp, AppsFlyer and Adjust. The pattern is the signal: measurement vendors build where their customers already spend, and the list keeps growing.
