Updated 24 September 2026: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam joined OpenAI's advertiser list on 23 September 2026, taking it to 63 countries, and ads serve in all 63. If your business is registered in Southeast Asia or Taiwan, or anywhere in the Middle East and North Africa, the verdict below has changed this month, so it is worth re-checking.

Registration decides, not audience
Advertiser accounts are open to businesses registered in 63 countries: the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, India, the 31 European markets, Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar and Tunisia, which opened on 31 August 2026, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Turkey, which opened on 16 September 2026, and Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, which opened on 23 September. Where your customers live does not change that.
Reach keeps expanding
Ads reach users on the free and Go tiers, and people reading ChatGPT without signing in, in all 63 markets where a business can open an advertiser account, a list that reached Southeast Asia and Taiwan on 23 September 2026. We confirm it by reading the campaign API's own allowed-country list. Logged-out readers only see creative suitable for all audiences, and ads do not appear in the ChatGPT Atlas browser during the test.
The country setting is permanent
An account's business country and currency cannot be changed after setup. A different entity means a whole new account, so get the setup right the first time.
